Selecting a chart style

SCEYA can construct a number of different standard charts from a GEDCOM file by importing that data into one of a number of packages:

• The Master Genealogist
• Family Historian
• Gen Box
• Family Tree Maker

Please make an initial selection from the example layouts given below.

Then download a SCEYA Charting Request form (Word or PDF format) and describe what you want.

Standard Charts available from packages

• Only birth, death and marriage dates and places will be displayed.
• Provided the GEDCOM file is properly formatted, then this service will only attract a fee equivalent to 30 minutes of consulting time.
• For any more detail than just births, deaths and marriage information, the rates for the SCEYA chart design and construction service will apply.

What kinds of charts are available?

There are 4 distinct types of charts that can be produced by charting software.

• Box charts
• Circular or Fan Charts
• Map-based charts (no service available at this time)
• Timeline charts (no service available at this time)

NOTE on the EXAMPLE CHARTS - These pages have a number of graphical images and they can take longer to load than other pages.

There are a number of variants of box charts:

• Ancestor or Pedigree box charts
• Descendant or dropline box charts
• Hourglass box charts
• Bow-tie box charts
• All-in-one box charts
• All relatives box chart

SCEYA has the following packages installed from which it can generate large format wall-charts :

Although examples of the styles of charts available within GenBox and Family Historian are not on this site, SCEYA will produce charts using these packages.

• Descendant fan charts
• Hourglass fan charts
